Funding announcement reader — facts, framing and what is not disclosed

ZIP · 18 KB · free

What you get

A skill that reads a funding announcement the way an editor does before repeating a figure: ten checks (primary source, new round or extension, raised or valued, currency and date, lead or participant, equity or debt or grant, what they sell, stage versus age, who else reported it, what would need correcting), every claim sorted into fact, framing or not disclosed with the beneficiary of each framing claim named, then a five-line reader's note, three questions for the company and, on request, a wire line or a comparison with the previous round. Nothing from memory: what the text does not say is not disclosed. Runs in Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude Code.

Use it for

  • Separate the stated figures in a press release from its framing before you forward it
  • List what a funding announcement does not disclose and turn it into three questions
  • Compare a new round with the company's previous announcement using only both texts
  • Write a one-line wire item that contains only confirmed facts

Preview — one prompt from the kit

Read this funding announcement as a news editor would, using only the text below — no knowledge from memory: {{announcement}}

Run these checks and answer each in one line: primary source or repost; new round or extension; each figure = raised or valuation; currency and announcement date; "led by" versus "with participation from"; equity, debt or grant; what they sell today in one plain sentence; founding year if stated; second independent source if any; what would need correcting.

Then return: (1) Facts — bullets quoting the exact phrase; (2) Framing — each claim → who benefits from it; (3) Not disclosed — what a reader would expect and the text avoids; (4) a Reader's note of exactly five lines: what happened with confirmed figures only, round type and lead status, what they sell, what is not disclosed, what to check before publishing; (5) three questions to ask the company, each answerable in one sentence.
